Fear, Clay, and Takeaways

Last week, I had the pleasure of spending time at the Montreat Conference Center in North Carolina. Montreat is one of those oasis type spots where time stops, people are unusually friendly, square dancing occurs on Friday evenings and conversations renew. This time around, there were a lot of firsts I encountered: the first time my kids had the joy of visiting this sacred space; the first time I stood among a thousand youth waving glow sticks wildly while words floated over each and every one of them that they are the light of the world; the first time I…

A Landing Spot for Ideas.

Together, they breathe, slowly, deliberately, “Do not be afraid.” Can I…

A Spark, Some Fear & Bravery

Did you know there’s a path marked especially for you? “I don’t know what it is,” you say. Shhhhhh… let’s sit and listen for a while. Do you hear it? (hum.) It’s your life speaking. Does this injustice need your unique voice? “I’m afraid,” you admit. Beloved, I see your fear. Fear of change. Fear of joy. “I have too much to lose. I’m scared of excess…
