Dear friends, May you have a blessed celebration as one year ends and another begins. Today, I’m sharing a painting and two poems with you. This painting began almost two years ago when I made the decision to move to the outer rim of the church after spending many years in leadership roles. I hear your song— the longing lyrics of being known, a rhythmic pulse of blood and tears to 
prove what you are made of, a common dream of worth. I look in your eyes— it’s as if I’m staring in a mirror, you on the other side. I want to protect you and embrace you all at once.
