Starstruck: A Magi(cal) Quest

Where is?
Where is the?
Where is the One?

A curious question arises,
a starry evening peaks,
seeking steps follow,
precious gifts given,
violet dreams bless,
liberation found

I’ve long loved the Magi in Scripture. Their depth of nature delights as they reveal a stirring inquiry that begins their quest. Their daring bravery sizzles as they follow stars in search of a sacred diamond. Their generous nature softens as they carry precious gifts on their travel. As they heed a dream given with bold courage; they find liberation.

I’m a woman who regularly seeks the stars, the glimmer, the shiny specks of goodness in search of the sacred diamond. This is the irrational path – the trek of the unknown – the way that doesn’t often “make sense” to the mind, yet opens the pathway of the heart towards joy and passion. As I’ve dared to take steps toward uncertainty over the last few years, I find I’m greeted by the holy mystery again and again. As I’ve tuned my ears to the questions I hold, they’ve guided the steps I’ve taken. This quote by Rilke has been nourishment to my trek:

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything.”

– Rainer Maria Rilke

Traveling the unknown road has given me precious gifts: I’ve claimed my inner royalty. I’ve discovered art as prayer. I’ve uncovered stories of the lost feminine. I’ve found a community of visionaries. Now, I invite others and pass along the gifts I’ve graciously been given.

What’s possible when we lean into greater imagination for our story? Where will the road lead if we let go of what we think needs to happen and invite surprise to lead? What happens if we release what isn’t necessary and only bring along our essential gifts? Could we have the audacity to take note of our nightly dreams and log their wisdom?

Join me for a 3-hour Magi(cal) evening journey as we delve into the story of the Magi on canvas to see what this story reveals for our lives. We’ll paint a simple shaped body Magi(cal) image, write personal reflections and connect in red thread. We’ll play with questions such as:

What curiosity do I carry?

Where do the canopy of stars desire to guide me?

What dreams do I hold?

What precious gifts are divinely mine?

Where does the unknown beckon?

This is a ZOOM painting gathering for women who desire to follow the light. If you are one who desires to lean into your personal Wisdom and listen for the questions you hold, come! If you are seeking to move towards the mystery, come. If you are curious to paint, dream and wonder, come! Together, we’ll create a compassionate container of witness and honor for our stories with sacred red thread.
