Community Prayer Mosaic

Over the last month, I’ve been ever grateful to receive Prayer Squares from many different locations around the world. I’ve made new friends, connected with old friends and have been humbled by what has come my way. These colorful prayers are a unique expression of each individual yet the common thread runs through them all: a vision of hope and love for the world. Below, I’m sharing the community mosaic up to this point (318 squares). I’ll be receiving Prayer Squares through May 29th. In the coming weeks, I’ll share completed mosaics and their stories by individuals who’ve been part of this experience.

A poem created in the style of French Pantoum, dedicated to all those who joined me for this community prayer experience, returning again and again. A central point of spiritual practice is the importance of “return”.

A Vision of Prayer

Prayers emerge from the core of my heart
They arise as a flame of desire
Desire for hope gained, connection made
A bridge to the sacred within and around
They arise as a flame of desire
Awash in golden speckles of confetti
A bridge to the sacred within and around
The practice of return restores my soul
Awash in golden speckles of confetti
Desire for hope gained, connection made
The practice of return restores my soul
Prayers emerge from the core of my heart
