It’s not in the words
she speaks,
rather,
her lack of language
endears her to me.
The way
she moves silent,
a wisp, whir, woo,
wrapping warm
around me.
No advice passes
her lips,
rather,
she sits patient,
her hand a snug blanket
to my suffering.
Her eyes tender,
a compassionate glance,
a knowing gaze
speaks
“Me too,
I understand.”
Her presence,
a million unspoken words,
one encompassing love.
To Ponder:
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.” Romans 8:26 NRSV

very nice. Sometimes we worry too much about what to say when what we really need to do is just be.
I have had a couple of “down days” this past week. As I have finished my latest “just for fun” read I stopped by the church library yesterday looking for inspiration. I saw the John Ortberg book ‘The Me I want to Be’ and thought THAT’s what I need. Upon examination I noticed your name inside. The first 2 chapters describe exactly where I am right now and I am reading with great hope. Thank you for thinking of donating it to our library.
Oh good! I’m glad you are reading that book! I really loved it when I read it. You’ll have to let me know what you think.
