Do Not Be Afraid.

Today,
I sit astounded by God,
the great “I am.”
I’m awed by the way
God doesn’t desire
labels of attachment.
God doesn’t lean toward
one side or another.
God doesn’t claim
Republican status,
or Democrat.
God doesn’t love
one nation over another.
God isn’t “for”
the good guys
or the bad.

God simply IS.

Today,
God spreads
wide wings over
immense Creation,
embracing all.
While the chaos whirls
and the mayhem whips,
God stands among
a heavenly host of angels
and all the saints
who’ve gone before us.
Together,
they breathe,
slowly, deliberately,
“Do not be afraid.”

Can I loosen
my binds and lean
into their knowing?

To Ponder:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Reflect upon a time in your life when circumstances overwhelmed but as time passed, restoration took place.
