Flaws.

Flaws“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

When it all bears heavy, your
fixed flaws,
petty imperfections,
the error of your ways,
wretched rejection,
irreverent thoughts,
voices from the past,
unholy actions, your
whimpering, weak
human you.

Be still. Stand firm. You are here.
Be present to the pressure at breaking point.
As the cracks in your perfect veneer
emerge,
(simply pause)
take a deep breath.

Notice. See the light shine forth?
Dear one,
you need the cracks.
Your flaws are your beauty.
Do you hear the call of the sacred?
“Where are you?”

Go ahead. It’s okay.
Answer the call.
Allow each peculiar limitation
lead you recklessly
into the arms
of a wild-about-you
God.

Show your weakness.
Receive the love.
You are accepted
as
you
are.

I love the word “peculiar”; I’m going to park on that one this week.
